Alejandro Fernandez's "Me Dedique
a Perderte"
"Me Dedique A Perderte", the opening
single from Alejandro Fernandez's album, A Corazón Abierto (With An
Open Heart), hit radio stations. The single, written by Leonel Garcia of Sin
Bandera, is a beautiful and heartfelt ballad about a man who regrets not loving
his woman when he had her in his life and realizes that it's too late to go
back.
The new album, A Corazón Abierto , finds
Alejandro's rich vocal stylings expressing the many emotions of love, from
spiritual to sensual, from playful to sentimental, on a collection of romantic
pop tracks written by some of music's hottest songwriters.
A Corazón Abierto was recorded in New York at Sony Studios and was
produced by Grammy winning producer Kike Santander (David Bisbal, Ricardo
Montaner) and acclaimed Mexican producer Aureo Baqueiro (Natalia Lafourcade,
Sin Bandera). Alejandro worked with Santander and Baqueiro to pick songs from
Garcia, Gian Marco, Tres de Copas, Reyli Barba Arrocha and award-winning Kike
Santander, himself. After wrapping the recording, Alejandro was photographed
by acclaimed photographers Pablo Alfaro and Omar Cruz for album art and packaging.
Alejandro was recently in Los Angeles filming the video for "Me Dedique
A Perderte". He traveled to San Antonio, Texas, for an event honoring
Museo American, the Smithsonian Institution's only affiliate honoring the
richness of the Latino contribution to American culture, and the launch of
Bello Magazine, a new English language Latino culture magazine.
Alejandro Fernandez has sold more than l0 million records, performed in front
of millions of fans and is the star of Alfonso Arau's (Like Water for Chocolate)
controversial film ZAPATA, the beautifully photographed mythical retelling
of the Mexican revolutionary's life. People en Español named him as
one of the World's Most Beautiful People, and he was recently awarded El Premio
De Estrella at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, acknowledging his long career
and great contributions to music.
Alejandro Fernandez exemplifies the best that modern Mexico's culture offers:
He channels its rich tradition through his music and personifies its future
with his appeal around the world. He is one of the world's best vocalists,
has sold more than ten million albums, performed in front of millions of fans
and is just beginning to explore his talent as an actor.
