ContactoMagazine.com is offering
online advertisers a new ad server that helps them check ad views,
clicks and click through rate (CTR) during their campaigns. This ad
server is OpenAds.
Advertisers are able to log in into a user interface and view statistics
about how their banners are performing. Apart from a simple overview,
they can view monthly, weekly, daily and hourly statistics. Advertisers
can also export reports in CSV format for use in Microsoft Excel.
OpenAds can handle different types of banners in various sizes. Thanks
to a flexible delivery engine it can handle regular banners and buttons,
pop-ups, text ads, DHTML banners and much more. OpenAds is the only
ad server that can handle tracking of Flash banners which aren't specially
prepared.
Openads, formerly called phpadsnew, is the most popular adserver solution
when measured by number of publishers using it. They have 25,000 publishers
using the sofware on 100,000 sites in 140 different countries and
in 20 languages.
Thanks to an advanced targeting system OpenAds can deliver different
banners based on many different parameters, such as keyword, IP address,
domain, weekday, hour of the day, language, browser or operating system.
It is even possible to combine these parameters and use logical operators
to create very specific situations in which banners are delivered.
In addition to this it is also possible to limit the delivery of banners
based on how often a banner is already shown to a specific visitor
and how long since the visitor last saw the banner.
The ad server technology has been provided by OpenAds, a tool to administer
MySQL databases created in 1998 by Tobias Ratschiller and updated
since then with new versions and projects such as phpIRC, phpPolls
and phpAds thanks to new developments created by Wim Godden, Phil
Hord and Niels Leenheer. OpenAds has been configured and implemented
within ContactoMagazine.com by Zoltis Technologies, an IT company
founded by Karel Rodriguez in 2002.

-- Online Hispanics look to the Internet as a primary source of
information. Half agree (51%) that they "get more information
about products and services from going online than they do from
television or newspapers or magazines.
-- Online Hispanics use the Internet to get information about health-related
issues more frequently than the online general population. Six in
ten online Hispanics (61%) do so either "regularly" or
"occasionally" (versus 55% of the online general population).
-- Online Hispanics are far more likely than the online general
population to list among their major financial goals being able
to send their children to college, buy a house or apartment, and
own their own business.
-- Nearly two-thirds (63%) of online
Hispanics use the Internet for information for the final brand decision,
more than any other source asked about, compared with about half
(52%) of the online general population.
-- Seventy percent now view the Internet as the best source for
comparing prices (vs. 59% in 2004).
-- Nearly two-thirds (63%) go online to get advice on brands to
buy (vs. 56% in 2004).
-- Sixty-nine percent go online to learn about features and benefits
of specific brands before making a purchase. This compares to 61%
in 2004.
